Youth Ministry

At St. Michael's we have a small but growing youth ministry. Children stay for and are a part of our many church services. Yes, our children worship with us! Older kids can even take part in singing in the choir, reading the Epistles(letters from the New Testament), and helping pass out antidoron(small pieces of bread given after Holy Communion). Young boys can also help by serving with the priest behind the altar.

As of 2024 we have several youth events lined up, and we hope to get Sunday School started back up again this Fall, which would be held after our Sunday Liturgy.

In addition, every summer, St. Tikhons Monastery holds a Children's Summer Camp, ages 7-17. Which is a full week, day and night, camp with many activities!

The Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania also holds a Winter Teen Retreat each year.

Nerf 'N Pizza

Nerf 'N Pizza - 03/09/24

Thanks to our parishioner Jason Hart for organizing and putting this event together! The kids had a blast!! They played a bunch of games with Nerf guns in our church hall where props were set up. Lunch was pizza and snacks, with some rest time taken for a spiritual devotional lesson.

Youth Talent Show - 02/04/24

Pictures from our youth talent show from February 2024. Several kids took part; dancing, juggling, playing music. The children also created and presented their own hand made "saint displays" at the event held in our church hall nextdoor.

St. Michael Orthodox Church is part of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, which is presided over by The Most Reverend Mark (Maymon), Archbishop of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. Our mission is bringing the joy of Christ's resurrection to those who have never heard the Good News, and to strengthen and encourage the faithful who reside within Old Forge and the local area.
